Thomas J. Ryan, 74, of Waretown, passed peacefully to God’s kingdom, at his home on October 14, 2015.  Born November 06, 1940 in South Amboy, NJ, Tom was a beloved husband, father, brother and uncle. He is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Betty, his two daughters Jennifer, Jill and her husband Steve. His mother-in-law Elizabeth Shamy, brothers-in-law Stephen Poroski and his wife Karen, Harold Weigand, and Seymour Savetsky.  As well as his nieces, nephews and, many beloved friends. He is pre-deceased by his mother Dorothy, father John, sisters Patricia and Constance and, brother John.

Tom attended Perth Amboy High School and was active in sports including football and basketball.  He attended Glassboro State College followed by 4 years of service in the US Air Force.  Tom spent 35 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Co. as a refrigeration and heating engineer.

Tom spent the better part of his life as a resident of Marlboro, NJ, before retiring to Greenbriar Oceanaire, NJ.  Tom enjoyed many adventures including skiing, race car driving, golfing, and had a love of muscle cars including his Corvette. 

Visitation will be Monday 2-6 pm at the Layton’s Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives & friends may arrive at the funeral home 9 am Tuesday for a 930 am funeral service. Burial will follow at Brigadier General William C Doyle Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
