Peter J. McCarron, 76, of Waretown, New Jersey, formerly of Tappan, NY died on January 10, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in his death by his beloved wife of 46 years, Dorothy.  A devoted member of Steamfitters’ Local #638. In 2007, he received a Life Membership Award for 50 years of service with Local #638.  From being a mechanic, then going in to the political positions within the union. Starting out on the Executive Board, to becoming a Business Agent, and retiring as Financial Secretary Treasurer.

Peter was a devoted and loving father to daughters, Debbie (Mike), Pat (Greg) and son Peter (Gia). Grandfather to: Michael (Danielle), Jessica, Amanda (Tim), Sarah, Alexandra, Peter, Olivia and James. Proud Great-Grandfather to: Emily, Austin and Aubrey. He loved sharing all the holidays and special moments with his family.  Nothing made him happier. He was a caring uncle to many nieces, nephews and cousins.

It will be a tremendous void in our family.

The other enjoyments in his life were going to the Giant games and attending 3 Giant Super Bowls.  He also enjoyed golf and going to Saratoga and Florida.

He will be sorely missed by family and numerous friends and all the people he made smile through the years.

Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 & 630 pm –9 pm at the Layton’s Home For Funerals,. A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday 930 am at the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River, Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park @ Waretown.
