Thomas A Phillips, Sr. age 76, of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, died Monday July 4, 2016 at Community Medical Center, Toms River.

Mr. Phillips was born in Newark, NJ living in Hillside and Union moving to Forked River in 1984 and most recently living the past twelve years in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

He retired in 2002 as the manager of the Lakehurst Naval Federal Credit Union, Lakehurst, NJ.

Mr. Phillips enjoyed the great outdoors especially fishing and power boating. He was enlisted for 34 years with the US Coast Guard Reserve making rank of Chief Warren Officer (W4).

Mr. Phillips was predeceased by his sister Frances Eisenhower in 1988.

Surviving his wife of 52 years Carol, his son Thomas A Philips, Jr, two daughters and their husbands Jean and Daniel Sullivan and Nancy and Kevin Enright; eight grandchildren Kevin Enright, Ryan Sullivan, Christine Enright, TJ Phillips, Megan Enright, Sam Phillips, Emily Phillips and Victoria Enright; his sister Diane Chamber of South Carolina.

Visitation will be Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton’s Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives and friends may arrive 1030 am Friday morning at the funeral home for an 11 am service. Cremation will be private.
