William J. Lowe, 71, of Barnegat, passed away on Sunday, June 25th, peacefully at his home. He was born in 1952 in Paterson NJ to his parents, Robert and Ruth (nee Shannon). He graduated from East Side Highschool in Paterson in 1969. He proudly served in the US Army. He was married to Sharon (nee Lupien) in 1998 and raised their family together in Waretown.
Billy was a die-hard NY Mets fan and was loyal to a fault. You could always catch him sitting in his screened in porch or the garage watching the game. Billy volunteered his time to coach baseball for Waretown Athletic Association. After a lifetime of night shifts at the New York Times, where he was the Chairman of his union (NMDU), Billy retired when his beloved wife fell ill.
Billy will forever be missed by his son; Robert and girlfriend Tori, who Billy considered his third daughter; his daughters Ashley and husband Jeff and Brittany and husband Mark; and his granddaughters, Aria, Skylar and Madison.
Billy will now be rejoined with his wife Sharon who he has missed dearly since her passing.
A celebration of Billy’s life is planned for Friday, June 30th from 10AM-12PM at Layton's Home For Funerals.
