Wilbert "Bill" Hische

Wilbert Robert Hische, 86, of Elizabeth, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

He was a retired fireman and an Army Corporal in the Korean War. After serving in South Korea, he worked for the Elizabeth Fire Department from 1956 – 1983.

Wilbert and his wife, Marie, moved their family to Lanoka Harbor, NJ, in 1972. A dedicated member of his community, he was a parishioner of the St. Pius Church in Lacey Township, a VFW member in Bayville, umpired for the Lacey Girls’ Softball team for many years, and worked for the Lacey Township Department of Public Works from 1987 – 1998. He loved working outside and enjoyed visiting his hometown and old fire house.

He is predeceased by his father, Fire Captain Wilbert H. Hische, mother, Mary Hische, and sister, Joan Adase.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Izzo Hische, four children—son Stephen Hische and Dolores; daughter Sharon and husband Joe Minialga, daughter Susan and husband Dr. Andrew Pagnotta; and daughter Stacey and husband Chas Fino—seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.

He will be greatly missed.
