Valerie Joy Loehwing, 67, of the Silverton section of Toms River, passed away peacefully at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, on April 13, 2024.
Born in Red Bank, Valerie was raised in Middletown and lived in Jackson before moving to Toms River in 1984.
She was the former owner and operator of Pine Beach Dry Cleaners. In 2000, Valerie became an elementary school teacher at Saint Aloysius School, Jackson Township and then Mother Seton Academy, Howell, before these two catholic schools permanently closed. Most recently she was a teacher at Saint Mark Academy before retiring in 2023.
Valerie was known for never standing still; she always had to be doing something. Whether it was ironing while watching a Hallmark movie, grading papers, cutting out school projects, reading, and most recently, adoring Beau in every move he made. Valerie also enjoyed politics, traveling to Fort Myers, Las Vegas, and cruising around the Caribbean. Family and friends meant everything to Valerie and her legacy will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Mary Schaad and father-in-law, William Loehwing.
Surviving are her loving husband of 45 years, Brian; two beloved sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy and Andrew and his wife, Madeline; a sister and brother-in-law, Cynthia L. and Tim Ballard; mother-in-law, Ann Loehwing; a sister and brother-in-law, Marie Elena and Bill Land; her 4-legged grandson, Beau; Uncle Donald; and 2 nephews and a niece, Dennis, Adam and Joy; and a host of other family and friends.
