Stanley Richard O’Donnell, Sr., U.S. Navy and NJ Army National Guard, retired, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2023 at Atlantic Coast Rehabilitation and Healthcare where he was on comfort care.
Stanley was born July 3, 1941 in Potsdam, NY to the late Richard and Bernice O’Donnell. He graduated from Carthage Central High school in 1959.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in December 1959 soon after graduation. He served during the Vietnam war, retiring in June of 1963 having been awarded a Good Conduct Medal in December 1962. He also served in the NJ National Guard retiring after 20 years in July of 2001.
He retired from the Manchester Township Tax Assessor’s Office at the end of December 2004.
Stanley is survived by his three children, eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; and five siblings.
He is predeceased his parents, two brothers, and one grandson.
