Robert J. Moran III, 83, of Forked River, NJ passed away at his home on October 5th, 2024.
He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on August 27th, 1941, to Ruth and Robert J. Moran, Jr.
As a teenager he worked at one of the first McDonald’s in New Jersey, likely sparking his lifelong love of hamburgers. He retired after nearly 40 years as a butcher, most of this was for Mayfair Foodtown. He was devoted father, student of history, which he passed on to his children through many trips to historical sites and battlefields, as “family vacations”. He was an avid fan of the New York football Giants and would often retell the firsthand experience of “The Fumble”.
Jim, or Jimmy, as he was known to family and close friends, is survived by his former spouse Mary J. Moran, their children Dan and his wife Jacqueline, Gerry and his wife Cinzia, Meghan and her husband Kevin, his grandchildren Sharyn, Allison, Daniel, Sean, Michela and Owen; Great-grandchildren Hannah, Ameila and Conrad James; His sister Ruth Seidel, her sons Robert and Eric and his loving companion Marian Estabrook and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Ruth Moran, brother-in-law Robert Seidel and wife Martha Bearmore Moran.
