Richard A. Orosz, 79, of Waretown, New Jersey, passed away on March 9, 2025, at the Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida surrounded by his loved ones.
Richard was born on May 9, 1945, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to Alexander and Helen Orosz. He was married to his beloved wife, Joyce (Jumiga) Orosz, for 55 wonderful years. Together, Richard and Joyce raised three children and shared a life full of love, laughter, and memories.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Guarnera and her husband, James, of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, his son, Christopher Orosz of Jacksonville, Florida, and his daughter-in-law, Carol Orosz of Marlton, New Jersey. He was also the proud grandfather of four grandchildren, Jake, Cali, Jena, and Caia Guarnera; his brother Ronald and his wife JoAnn of Manchester, New Jersey. Richard was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Orosz, in 2021, and his grandson, Caden Guarnera, in 2009.
Richard was a dedicated and proud veteran, serving as a Private in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1966 to 1972. He carried a deep sense of duty and patriotism throughout his life, serving his country with honor and commitment.
In 1985, Richard founded Specialty Rubber, Inc., where he served as the president of the company. His dedication, hard work, and leadership led to the success of the business, which became a testament to his vision and perseverance. Richard’s commitment to excellence in his work was paralleled by his unwavering devotion to his family and community.
In addition to his military service, Richard was an active member of the Lacey Elks Lodge #2518 in Forked River, New Jersey. He enjoyed donating his time to various charitable causes, including Veteran Affairs, Special Children’s Committee, and Bingo Events. He was also a member of the Greenbrier Oceanaire Golf and Country Club and the Freedom Boat Club. An avid sports fan, Richard enjoyed cheering on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Michigan Football, and his grandchildren as they competed in various sports. Richard loved the NJ Shore where you would find him in Atlantic City. He enjoyed the boardwalk, casino table games, shows and playing the slot machines. His love for family and community extended to his church, where he was a devoted member of Saint Pius X in Forked River.
Richard’s family and friends will forever remember his kindness, generosity, and dedication to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
