Born on September 9, 1937, in Staten Island, New York, Richard Klumbach was the beloved son of Charles and Marie Klumbach. He was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, his generous spirit, his remarkable strength, and his deep love for tennis, travel, good food, and a strong apple martini. Richard also proudly served his country with honor in the United States Marine Corps. After his service, he began his career at the New York Stock Exchange, and later joined AT&T Nassau Metals, where he dedicated the remainder of his professional life until his retirement. In his later years, he enjoyed spending winters at his condo in Marco Island and, in his earlier years, he cherished his summer days alongside his brother Tarcy in Manasquan and took great pride in being a member of the South Shore Swim Club in Tottenville, Staten Island. Where he spent countless memorable moments with his close-knit group of friends, fondly known as The Top of the Hill Gang.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Richelle Dohner , Charlene Reebe , and Deborah Dohner ; son in law William Reebe , his cherished grandchildren, Cristen, Mikey, Amanda, Billy, Richie, and Angelina; and his adored great-grandchildren, Luciana, Blake, and Anthony. He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Tarcy Klumbach and his beloved wife, Ann Klumbach.
A military service honoring Richard's life will be held on August 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Layton's Funeral Home, located at 250 Lacey Road, Forked River, New Jersey.
