Richard Clark left us on the evening of March 2 at the age of 91. He was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. As a young man he met his loving wife, Nancy Dickinson, who he was married to for 62 years. He was a loving and supportive husband and father to his three children: Lorraine Day, Patricia Trustan, and John Clark. He was blessed to have a very close and caring family and in addition to his children he is survived by, his son-in-law, Michael Day, daughter-in-law, Janis Clark, grandchildren, Michael, Rebecca, Brian, Matthew, Jill, Linda, Johnathon, and 8 great grandchildren.
Richard was a US Navy veteran who served abord the USS Newman K. Perry for 4 years. He was employed by Ciba Geigy in Toms River NJ and retired after 35 years. Richard remained active throughout retirement, living life to its fullest and serving as a member of the Forked River Old Guard as the organization’s treasurer. Richard has left a long legacy of family, love, honor, compassion, touching not only his family but everyone around him. Richard will be greatly missed, but there is comfort in knowing he and his wife are together again.
Visitation will be Wednesday March 8, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Layton's Home for Funerals, Forked River. The funeral will be held on Thursday March 9, at St. Pius Church at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, North Hanover Township.
