Phyllis Detore, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 67 years old.
Phyllis was born in Newark to Grace and Anthony Cardone. Throughout her life, she faced many challenges, battling numerous illnesses, but her strength and determination never wavered. She lived with a smile on her face, always putting others before herself, and fought until her very last breath. Phyllis was a true warrior with unwavering faith in the lord, and her resilience left an unfading mark on all who knew her.
Phyllis was a devoted wife to her husband of 42 years, Anthony Detore. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was the proud mother of four children: Cheryl (Gregg), Jessica (Mark), Dana (Jimmy), and Anthony (Stephanie), and a doting grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren: Lena, Gabe, Morgan, Amber, Gage, Grace, Gia, Madilynn, and the one on the way, Ava. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and they brought her immense joy.
Phyllis will be deeply missed by her family and friends, especially her cousin-by-birth, sister-by-choice, Cheryl Klementowicz, and her husband, Edward, who shared a special bond with her.
Phyllis leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her kindness, warmth, and spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
