Peter Steller Obituary

Peter Walter Steller, 72, died, Monday, March 8, 2021, with his loving family by his side.  Peter was born in Hoboken and lived in North Bergen until he moved to the Lanoka Harbor section of Lacey Township, where he resided for almost 50 years. Peter graduated from North Bergen High School in 1968. In 1969, during the Vietnam Conflict, he was drafted into the United States Army and served his country honorably.  Upon returning from his service in Korea, he became employed by Hugo Neu for 40 years before retiring in 2012. After retiring in 2012, Peter took a part time job at Enterprise cars.

Peter was conscientious and meticulous in every aspect of his life. He was a dedicated employee and gave the same attention and dedication to his family and friends. Peter was a car enthusiast and always had more than one car in his “fleet”. He enjoyed living at the shore and spent lots of time on his boat. Peter also was the Pop Pop, friend, neighbor, brother, and spouse that could fix anything. Even when he told you he could not, he would fix it.

Peter will always be dearly and fondly remembered by the many nicknames given him by his family and always a good sport about it. Pete, Uncle Peter, Pop Pop, Uncle Grumpy to name a few. The only time Peter didn’t have a beard was when he was serving in the Army, and as it turned grey, he always had a reason or person who gave it to him.

He was predeceased by his father, Walter Steller and a brother, William Steller.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Kathleen; a daughter and son-in-law, Traci and Joffre Robalino, Lanoka Harbor; a son, Vincent Sisto, Lanoka Harbor; his loving mother, Beatrice Steller, Brick, NJ; a sister, Patricia Lafrenz, Chesapeake, VA; a brother and his wife, Robert and Linda Steller, Lanoka Harbor, NJ; a brother, George Steller and his wife, Alice, Wall, NJ; a brother, Charles Steller and his wife, Jean, Bayville, NJ; a sister, Elizabeth Hendrick and her husband, Tony, Casselberry, FL; a brother, Steven Steller and his wife, Dawn, Zephyrhills, FL; a sister, Margaret Hodgson, and her husband, John, Seffner, FL; two granddaughters, Ava and Ella Robalino; and many nieces and nephews.

Burial with Military Honors will be private for immediate family at a later date.
