On Thursday, April 20, 2023, Patricia J. Maione, loving wife and mother of five sons, passed away at the age of 83. Patricia was born on March 10, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey and was the third child of Howard and Bertha Mortimer. Patricia grew up in Newark, N.J. and attended St. Mary’s grammar school and Central High School. It was in Newark where Patricia met Michael Maione in 1953 and would eventually become married in 1956.
Patricia was an avid bowler, a member of the Red Hat Society, a member of the Rosarians, a Eucharistic Minister, and a devoted member of the Catholic Church. Patricia was passionate about life, sharing her enjoyment for cooking, sewing, and laughing with her sisters.
Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Michael; her five sons, Michael, Mitchell, Mark, Patrick, and Perry; seven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Joshua, Kayleigh, Mitchell, Jessica, and Aidan; and three great grandchildren, Allie, Sophia, and Bella.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Layton’s Home For Funerals, 250 West Lacey Road, Forked River, New Jersey from 2pm to 6pm.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at the Church of Saint Pius X, 300 West Lacey Road, Forked River, New Jersey at 10:30am. Entombment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. See link below.
