It is with a heavy heart that we share the peaceful passing of Natale “Nat” Buro on June 18, 2023, at the age of 79. He entered eternal rest surrounded by his loving family.
Nat was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Aviation High School and proudly and honorably served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Formerly of Scotch Plains and Cranford, New Jersey, he settled in Forked River, New Jersey, with his wife, Christine. He most recently worked for the Scotch Plains Department of Public Works before retiring in 2006.
Nat was a caring and selfless person who loved his family. He was a genuine man and strongly believed in God, hard work and living life in the moment.
He was an active member of the American Legion Post 517 and a Third Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus - Fr. Capodanno Council 6522, both of Forked River; a longtime member of the Scotch Plains-Fanwood UNICO chapter; and a Life Member of the New Jersey State Firemen’s Association.
Nat was active in the Sea Breeze community, where he enjoyed playing corn hole, taking long walks, talking to the many community friends, and was especially proud of leading the Building and Grounds committee. He was loved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Christine (Telleri) Buro; his sons, Christopher Buro and wife Karen; Douglas Buro and wife Justina; his daughter Julianne Passero and husband Michael; his seven grandchildren, Evelyn Hancocks and husband Adam; Katherine Jakobovic and husband Matthew; Michael Buro; Joseph Buro and wife Janice; Kai Buro; and Giro and Luca Passero; his three greatgrandchildren, Brody Blocker, Shanna Hancocks, and Faith Jakobovic; niece Danielle Misiti and husband Vincent; nephews Robert DePasca and wife Lynette; and Michael DePasca and wife Gina. He is also survived by his loving extended family, Carmen and Barbara Telleri; nieces Nicole Simpson and husband David; Allison Rekuc and husband David; and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, Hailey and Joshua Simpson and Finley and Grayson Rekuc.
Nat was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Raffaela Buro, and his sister, Anna Zimmermann.
