It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Nancy Vagg, 84, of Waretown, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, NJ. Nancy peacefully went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Even during the most difficult challenges of her illness, Nancy faced every obstacle with remarkable grace, strength, and dignity.
She was born in Jersey City on May 8, 1942, to Eva Miller and Raymond Wursthorn, and was predeceased by her beloved sister, Dianne Rigos. After graduating from high school, she attended secretarial school and soon began her career. Not long after, she reconnected with the love of her life, Edward Vagg, at a local sweet shop when his return from military service brought them together. Their love story blossomed, and they married in 1962, beginning a beautiful life together centered around faith, family, and friends.
Nancy created a warm and loving home and is survived by her husband Edward Vagg and her three cherished daughters: Eve Vagg (Jim Shutterly), Rae Buzzerio(Dino), and Dina Warick (Michael). Her family continued to grow with the addition of her treasured grandchildren: Alexander (Sara), Frederic (Tiffany), Salvatore, Brandon, Lindsey, Catherine, and Corrado. She was also blessed with two darling great-granddaughters, Violet and Lilliana, who brought her immense joy.Her abundant love was also shared with her brother-in-law Raymond Vagg (SamGeoff), her sister’s only child, Paul Rigos, her adored cousins, Donald, Emily, Mary Ann, Dick and Kathy who were as dear as siblings and her precious life-long friends.
Nancy touched countless lives and will forever be remembered for her warmth, beauty, joyful spirit, and deep love of gardening. She devoted many years to volunteering at her church, as a “Dusting Angel”-- quietly serving her community with dedication and kindness.
Her legacy of family, faith, strength, and selfless service will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name.
