Mildred Panfile (Catalo), 85, of Bayville NJ formerly of Washington Twp. NJ, Bergen county, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on February 23, 2024.
She is survived by her loving husband Raymond of 65 years, her sons Domenick and his wife Ann Zangoglia of Dumont NJ, Stephen and his wife Angela Kelly of Whiting NJ, and Michael and his husband Fernando Garcia of Whiting NJ.
Also surviving is her brother Richard Catalo and his wife Kathleen, of Hasbrouck Heights NJ and her sister Janise Dawson and her husband Timothy, of Forked River NJ; her grandchildren Lauren Panfile from Asbury Park, NJ, Christie and her husband Steven Noel, of Alexandria, VA., and Stephen Panfile and his fiancee Courtney Swanson of Tinton Falls NJ, and Domenick Panfile, of Edgewater, NJ; and a great-grandson, Titan James Noel.
She was predeceased by her loving Standard Poodle "Lucy" which she loved and adored.
Mildred (Millie) met her husband in Hackensack NJ on a double date. They made a quick connection and were married on April 19th 1958. They purchased a home in Washington Twp., Bergen County, NJ where she raised her family. Millie worked for Bell Telephone as a billing clerk until the birth of her first child. She quickly became a domestic engineer, and three years later she gave birth to identical twin boys.
Mille was devoted to her husband and family and enjoyed taking vacations at the Jersey shore. They loved the Jersey shore so much, they purchased a summer home in Bayville, NJ, bought a boat and enjoyed the rest of their lives entertaining family, friends and neighbors.
She was also very active in her Church, St. Pius X Parish in Forked River, NJ. and enjoyed painting, basket weaving and sewing. She also collected antiques, teddy bears and Hummel figurines.
Visitation will be at Layton's Home for Funerals, 250 West Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731, on Sunday March 3rd From 12pm to 4pm .
