Mary Ann Augusta, loving wife, mother and grandmother, died July 7, 2022 at Southern Ocean Medical Center, Stafford, NJ, with her family by her side.
Born in Newark, NJ October 31, 1945, she was the daughter ofFrank and Mary DePrisco and older sister to Jo Ann Padovano(Jack). Mary Ann graduated from St. James High School.
Mary Ann met the love of her life, Joseph Augusta (Junior) who she married on May 2, 1964. They were happily married for 57 years. Joe and Mary Ann lived in the Greenbriar community in Waretown for the last 15 years.
IMary Ann is survived by her loving husband, and her 3 childrenGina, Lisa (Berri) and Joseph (Casey) Augusta. She is lovingly known as “Nanny” to her 7 grandchildren, McKenzie, Mikey, Tess, Sofia, Sean, Maura, and Joey, as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary Ann was a homemaker and a dedicated stay at home mom for most of her married life. She enjoyed watching Yankee games with her husband, and playing the slots at Atlantic City. Mary Ann also loved traveling, Broadway shows and spending time with her family. She was an award winning baker and her desserts were always in high demand at family gatherings and community events. Words with Friends and other computer games kept her busy in her down time.
The funeral is at Layton Funeral Home in Forked River on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:30. A funeral mass will be the church of St. Pius X, 300 Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ. Visitation is on Tuesday, July 12, from 2-6 pm.
