Mary Pappas

Mary Pappas, age 91, of Whiting NJ, passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2018.

Mary, best known as Yiayia, was born in Cyprus, Greece, before moving to the United States with her family as a little girl.

She worked for her family’s floral shop in North Jersey before marrying the love of her life Nicholas Pappas.  Mary was a devoted mother and homemaker, caring for her children and grandchildren for many years and will always be remembered for her generous heart and love for her family.

Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Nick and daughter Antoinette Pappas.  

Surviving are: a brother, Gus Pappas; a daughter, Helen Novak and her husband Edward; grandchildren, Anthony and his wife Sally Cascio, Nicholas, Thomas, Katelyn and her husband Mark Ciallella, Kristen; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Liam, and Zoey.
