Linda L. Garrett, 72, of Whiting, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, on March 21, 2025.
Linda was born on April 16, 1952, to Dolores Wilson and Raymond Kosmoski in South Plainfield, NJ. After high school, she moved to Rome, GA, where she attended nursing school. After completing her studies, she returned to NJ, settling in Bayville, where she volunteered with the Bayville First Aid Squad and formed a lasting friendship with Veronica Keene, who remained one of her dearest friends throughout her life.
In 1980, Linda met Bill Garrett, her husband of 42 years. Linda and Bill went on to have two children, Caitlin and Erin, raising their family in Lacey Township, NJ, from 1982 to 2006, before settling in Whiting, NJ.
In 2020, Linda retired from the healthcare field and fully devoted her time to her grandchildren, children, family, and friends. Throughout her life, Linda was known for her love of animals and had several horses, dogs, and cats whom she spoiled and loved unconditionally.
Linda is predeceased by her father, Raymond Kosmoski, and stepfather, Robert Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Bill Garrett; her daughters, Caitlin Bey (Jeremy) and Erin Motus; and her three loving grandchildren, Molly, Mackenzie, and Parker. Linda is also survived by her mother, Dolores Wilson; her brother, Raymond Kosmoski; her sister, Marianne Bea; and many other loving family members, nieces, nephews, and her church family.
A visitation will be held at Layton’s Funeral Home, Forked River, on Friday, March 28th, from 2:00–6:00 p.m., with a funeral service to follow on Saturday, March 29th, at 11:00 a.m. at Village Lutheran Church, Lanoka Harbor.
