Leopold “Leo” Kofman, 86, of Forked River, NJ and formerly, Monroe, NY, passed away peacefully on May 28th 2022.
He was a gentleman in every sense of the word who deeply cared for, provided for, and loved his family. He is survived by his loving wife Eugenia, his sons, Gary and Max, their wives Lorraine and Angelique, and grandchildren Anna, Alexa and Phoebe (respectively) in addition to his extended family.
Leo, born on July, 29 1935 in Bucharest, Romania, fled with his family as a young boy to Russia during WWII. He, with his wife and children, emigrated to the United States in 1976. He earned an Engineering degree as a young man and for many years worked in Combustion Engineering and Orange & Rockland, earning many lifelong friends along the way.
After retirement, he enjoyed his family, working around the house as well as traveling with his wife, visiting many locations in US, Canada, South America and Europe. And he loved the beaches in Aruba.
Leo and Eugenia are the finest example of perseverance, grace, love and the American dream.
