Kenneth Martin Brack, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 75. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and raised in Secaucus, Ken lived a life marked by adventure, discovery, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones.
Ken attended Saint Peter’s Prep before continuing his education at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, preparing for a career that would take him across the world’s oceans. He proudly served for 25 years in the Merchant Marines, sailing as a second mate, dedicating himself to the profession he loved.
Beyond his career at sea, Ken had an insatiable love for travel, often journeying to historic sites like forts, battlefields, and castles, immersing himself in the stories of the past. On rare occasions, he would take his family to Disney World. He was an avid reader, fascinated by history, military strategy, and the mysteries of Sherlock Holmes. His passion for tall ships and sailing was one of his greatest joys, and his published photographs showcased his keen eye and appreciation for their beauty.
In the fall of 1975, Ken married his wife, Kathy, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He leaves behind Kathy, his son Kenny, daughter Maureen, son-in-law Doug, and cherished granddaughter Quinn. He is also survived by his brother Marty. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Carol, who now welcome him with open arms.
Ken’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for exploration, learning, and storytelling will be remembered always.
