Kathleen Diane Wilbert

Kathleen Diane Wilbert, beloved mother to four children, age 63, of Forked River, NJ, passed away at her home on November 2nd, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Neptune, NJ in 1962 to Captain Dan McLaughlin and Shirley Reed McLaughlin, and she spent most of her childhood with her father at Wall Stadium Speedway. She was a dedicated postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for 22 years.

Kathleen was a devoted mother to Tony, Mark, Tiffany, and Kyle. She was a hands-on mom. She took special joy in creating each child's Halloween costumes, and she was an especially talented crafter and carpenter. Her beautiful gardens were famous in the community. Her greatest achievement was in her children, and her pig, Hamlet, he held a close place in her heart.

Kathleen was preceded in death by Captain Dan McLaughlin, Shirley Reed McLaughlin, and Donna McLaughlin DeCicco. She is survived by Brian Wilbert, Anthony Spina, Mark Spina, Tiffany Roman (Stefan), Kyle Wilbert (Kelsey), Dan McLaughlin Jr (Cathy), Janine McLaughlin, Lisa McLaughlin Goodale(Scott), Sheri Futch(Hank), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her pride and joy was in her three grandchildren: Violet, Aurora, and Wyatt Roman.

Visitation will be held at Layton's Home for Funerals on Friday, November 7th, 2025 12-2PM, with a funeral service to follow at 2PM.
