Kathleen M Goudie

Kathleen "Kathy" Goudie, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 25th surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories. Kathy was born in Newark and raised in Clifton, New Jersey, and most recently made her home in Toms River.

She is survived by the love of her life, Bart Capuano; her two daughters, Christine McGee and Kelly Merlo, her son-in-law, Steve; and her two granddaughters, Carly and Stephanie, who brought her immense joy. Kathleen is also survived by her brother, Patrick Goudie and his wife, Nancy; her sisters, Maureen Edore  and Doreen Bennett and husband, Brian. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Priscilla Goudie, her sisters Suzanne Pinzino, Patricia Mussaw and Colleen Goudie as well as her nephews John, Robert and Brody.

Kathy, was bold, funny and full of love. Her unfiltered wit could fill a room with laughter.  Her happiest times were spent with family; sharing memories stories and unforgettable moments.

She enjoyed weighing in her two cents, offering advice, even if it was small or seemingly insignificant, whether you wanted it or not. 

A talented florist, Kathy spent many years sharing her passion for flowers, becoming the family's go-to expert for floral arrangements and gardening tips. She touched the lives of many with her creativity.

Kathy's legacy of love and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A service will be held at Layton's Funeral Home in Forked River, NJ,  Monday March 3, 2025, from 1 pm to 3 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Brody's Crew, a non-profit organization held dear to her heart, that supports families battling pediatric cancer.
