Joseph LaVelle

With a heavy heart, we sadly announce the sudden passing of Joseph LaVelle, age 78. He died on August 12th. Beloved husband of 58 years, devoted father and grandfather. Joe was born in Weehawkin, lived in North Bergen. In 1976, he and his family moved to Forked River and lived there for 48 years. He was a fire captain for the North Hudson Regional Fire Department for 30 years. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Wilma and Joseph LaVelle. He is survived by his loving wife Carol, daughter Danielle (Jeff), son Michael (Kaylee) and 4 wonderful grandchildren - Daniel, Jacqueline, AJ and Cameron. He was a selfless person who always put family and friends first. He loved boating and fishing and you could always see Joe riding his bike and taking beautiful pictures of the sunrise. He will be deeply missed.
