Joseph A DeTroia

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joe “Digger” DeTroia. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. 

Joe was born December 25 1958 to Ann and Anthony DeTroia of Newark NJ. Moving to Forked River at the age of 15 Joe was a graduate of Central Regional High School class of 1976.

Joe has been happily married to his wife Tricia for 38 years. He is survived by his wife, his loving children and their families; Kailee, Joseph and Kate and their daughter Natalie, Brenna and Dave and their children Hunter Paisley and Peyton, Devon, and his 3 dalmatians Max Marley and Murphy. He is also survived by his mother Ann DeTroia, his sisters Patti, Theresa, and Maryann, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.

Joe was an avid sports fan, he played softball with the Forked River Buzzards for over 20 years creating lifelong friendships that he cherished. 

Joe had an unwavering love for the Colts and football Sundays.

Joe loved having a good time with his family and friends. In the summer months he enjoyed camping, canoeing, and could always be found in his pool with a cold drink in hand and tequila on ice.

While Joe may no longer be with us in person, all the memories made with him will last a life time.
