John C Szott

John Charles Szott passed away peacefully on April 29, 2021.  He was born and raised in Garfield, NJ where he lived with his parents and sister Theresa.  In 1978 he moved from Oakland, NJ to Forked River, NJ with his wife Gloria. 

John and Gloria were married for 49 years before Gloria’s passing in 2007.  They were the loves of each other’s lives.  John served his country in the United States Air Force and owned his own business as a roofing contractor. 

John was very close with his daughter Donna, and his greatest joys were spending time with his two adoring grandsons, Christopher and Alex, and his great grandson Matthew.  He was a kind, loving, and devoted family man. His family will miss him dearly, but takes comfort knowing he has now been happily reunited with the love of his life, Gloria.

John was predeceased by his wife Gloria and his sister and brother-in-law Theresa and Joseph Howley. He is survived by his daughter Donna Dasti, grandchildren Christopher Dasti and wife Elaine, Alex Dasti and wife Hillary, great grandson Matthew Dasti, and three great grandchildren on the way.  Also survived by nieces and nephews Joseph Howley and wife Christine, James Howley and wife Melanie, Patti Pfeifer and husband Fred, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
