John R Strehlow

John R. Strehlow, 78,  of Forked River, passed away on January 16, 2020 in Tom’s River, NJ.

John was born in Minneapolis, MN to Herman and Hazel Strehlow on December  19, 1941.  He married Patricia A. Joyce (June 9, 1943-June 5, 2006) on October 19, 1968 in Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota.  He worked as a Medical Group Administrator in Colorado and retired to New Jersey in 2006. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army as a Captain. He was very devout to his family and described by many as a kind and patient man.

John is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Hazel Strehlow,  wife Patricia Strehlow (Joyce), and son Sean Strehlow.

John is survived by daughters Erin Strehlow, Alana Strehlow (Dewey), son in law Richard Dewey, granddaughter Brittney Somers (Dewey) and her husband Brandon Somers, great grandchild Desmond Somers, and brother in laws Thomas and Betty Joyce and Dennis and Diann Joyce.

Memorials may be given to the Salvation Army.
