The family of John J. Giordano, Sr., 78, is heartbroken to announce John entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 31, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. John was born in Manhattan, NY, on May 7, 1947. John proudly and honorably served his country during the Vietnam era as an Army pay specialist in Korea.
John met Elizabeth Clark in 1972 while working at Sterling Drugs in New York City and married the love of his life over 52 years ago. Together they raised two devoted sons, John Joseph, Jr. and David Michael in New York before moving to the Forked River section of Lacey Township in 1989.
John is predeceased by his parents, Vito and Marie Giordano; his in-laws, Benjamin and Geraldine Clark; his sister, Rosemarie and her husband Stanley; as well as his sister-in-law Catherine; and brother-in-law Ronald.
John was a devout Catholic and parishioner of The Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River. He never missed Mass or Communion, up to the day he met the Lord.
John played many sports and coached both of his sons in baseball during their youth. John was an excellent bowler; a sport he loved sharing with his brother-in-law Stanley.
His son, John married Kirsten and David married Shannon. As time went on, John became known as Papa. He was the epitome of the perfect grandfather. John’s love for his eight grandchildren was indescribable. The Giordano family grew at a rapid pace, all because two people fell in love. Samantha, Grace, Riley, Joseph, Loghan, Gabriella, Marcella, and Camilla stole his heart. Nothing made him prouder than his grandchildren. John did not miss a sporting event, school function or recital. He watched his grandchildren always beaming with pride, they were his life’s passion.
John touched the lives of so many people and his legacy will live on through his sons and their families.
