John Braun, Jr. Obituary

John G. Braun, Jr., 75, of Manchester Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife and daughters on August 25, 2020.   John was born and raised in Perth Amboy, NJ to his parents John Sr. and Catherine Braun.  He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rose, his three daughters, Katie Connelly (husband Mike), Cindy Chappell (husband Nick), and Carolyn Braun, his grandchildren Matthew and Christopher John Connelly and Ellie Chappell and many cousins and extended family.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Newark College of Engineering and spent his career in the pharmaceutical industry.

John built a family of love.  His wife, Rose, brought joy to his life and he cherished the time he spent with his daughters, his grandsons and granddaughter.  He taught his girls that they could be whatever they wanted and supported them along the way; with engineers and a teacher following in his footsteps.

John loved his family and friends. He enjoyed getting together to share laughter, good music and good food and drinks.  John loved fishing from a young age.  He bought his first boat when he was in his 20s and continued fishing in the Barnegat Bay every summer.  It brought a smile to his face to have his grandchildren on the boat with him.  He also enjoyed traveling with Rose.  They did countless cruises in many parts of the world and they were always planning their next trip.

Heart health was important to John; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of John G. Braun Jr. to the American Heart Society. www.heart.org
