Jean F McLean

Jean F. McLean (Shilland) passed away peacefully on February 19, 2021 at the age of 97.

Jean was born to Janet and William Shilland on August 7, 1923 in West New York, New Jersey. Jean was raised in Dunellen, NJ, where she met her high school sweetheart and love of her life James B. McLean. They were married soon after James returned from military service in World War II and celebrated 67 years of marriage before James’ death in 2012.

Jean was predeceased by her parents, Janet and William Shilland; brother David; her loving husband James; and her son Kevin.

Surviving are her children Theresa Anne McLean-Reul; James P McLean and wife Annie; Michael McLean; Jean Sullivan and husband Christopher; beloved nephew Thomas Masiello; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.

Jean enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life including baking and sewing, and loved spending time with family and friends.

Our family is forever grateful to our angel Tina Odorpey, who served as Jean’s health aide and companion for 6 years. Her compassionate care and devotion to our mother will never be forgotten.

Thank you also to the wonderful staff at Spring Oak Assisted Living and Holy Redeemer Hospice Care for their kindness and wonderful care.

Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later time.
