Irene M. Postorino (nee Soehl), 78, of Forked River, NJ, passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones in her home, where she happily resided for the past 43 years, on September 1, 2025. Born June 10, 1947, in Jersey City, Irene lived her life full of heartfelt laughter, an insatiable passion for life, and an intense love for her family and friends.
Irene was predeceased in the death by her dear parents, Ernest C. Soehl and Muriel B. Soehl (nee Olsen).
Irene is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Ronald Postorino, her daughters, Lisa Palma, and Jessica DeLucia (Joe), her stepson Ronald Postorino, her brothers Ernest (Peggy), and Robert (Lorraine), her sisters, Dotsy (Tom), and Joyce Soehl, her grandchildren, Clarissa Alfaro (Rene), Joseph Tarver, Ava DeLucia, and Jackson DeLucia, her great grandchildren, Olivia, Harper, Koii, and Marley, numerous nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Irene worked as a hairdresser for many years in her hometown of North Bergen, before moving to Forked River in 1982. She was an active member at Village Lutheran Church, and later in life became a volunteer in shelters for abused women and children. She organized a monthly Bonko group when she moved to Forked River, that she adored and continued to run until she became too ill. Irene loved traveling and vacationed frequently to a great many of places, her favorite destination being Aruba.
Irene’s legacy will live on in the smiles and laughter of all who knew her, the recipes that she shared, and the lives that she touched upon with her kindness, beauty, and love. She will be sorely missed.
