Gerard William “Jerry” Quinn passed away at home in Forked River, NJ on November 24, 2025. He was born in January 1955 to Robert and Marie Quinn in Upstate New York. He is predeceased by his parents, brother Joseph, and sisters Mary Quinn Skocylas and Michaele Quinn. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Roberta Torre Quinn, son Alexander, brother-in-law John Skocylas, and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry graduated in 1973 from Shenendehowa Central High School in Clifton Park, NY, where he was one of the highest scorers in the state on the Regents exam. He knew during high school that he wanted to be a lawyer. He received a BA in classics in 1977 from Union College in Schenectady, NY and a JD from Albany Law School in 1980. A momentous day occurred at registration for law school when he conversed with the woman standing next to him. Roberta eventually became his wife in May 1983.
Jerry worked as an attorney for Carola and Serbalik in Mechanicville, NY before moving to New Jersey and getting married. He worked for the Cooper Levenson law firm in Atlantic City for 34 years, becoming a partner in 1988. He concentrated on research and arguing appeals.
Jerry was a voracious reader with many interests, including astronomy and military history. He painted over 1000 military miniatures and wrote several articles for the Midwest Wargamer’s Association Newsletter, sometimes with his son. He loved collecting Tiki mugs and bad science fiction movies. He enjoyed cooking and baking for his family. He had an extensive music collection.
Jerry was fortunate to travel many places and enjoyed cruising. A highlight was a cruise in French Polynesia to observe the transit of Venus.
He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Forked River. He had been a reader and a member of the Pre-Cana ministry and Holy Name Society.
