George Koster Obituary

George Anthony Koster, 76, of Barnegat, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, November 3rd, of respiratory failure. He left to be with his wife Karen who he missed dearly.
George was born on December 13th, 1944 to Robert and Amelia Koster in Weehawkin, NJ. After graduating from West New York Memorial High School in 1962, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he would serve as an Aviation Fire Control Technician Bomb Director, Petty Officer, 3rd class, aboard naval aircraft carriers during the Vietnam War until 1967.
Following an honorable discharge he worked for Coca-Cola before landing on his feet as a Patrolman for the North Bergen Police Department in 1970, kicking off a 25 year career in law enforcement where he would eventually retire with a rank of Sargeant.
In 1965, during his time in the military, he met Karen Klein, the love of his life and they wed on June 22, 1968, going on to have three children, Renee, Michele and Robert.
After retiring in 1995, George then moved from Waldwick to South Jersey, before eventually purchasing a home in Bluffton, South Carolina to enjoy retirement.
He enjoyed pigeon racing, fishing, vintage cars, DJ'ing parties, listening and singing to the oldies and spending time with his family. He loved to make us laugh and will be remembered for all of time.
George was predeceased by his wife Karen. He is survived by his three children, Robert, Michele and Renee, his daughter-in-law Brittany, his grand-doggies Loki and Leila, and his siblings, Robert, Carol, Joan, and Guy.
