Franklyn J Polster, age 72, currently residing in Whiting NJ, passed away at his daughter’s home in Kernersville NC on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Franklyn was born on July 23,1948, in Hoboken NJ. He is predeceased by his parents, Franklyn Gelan Polster and Lucille Polster.
Surviving his son Franklyn J. Polster Jr., his daughter Lauren and her husband Tasos, and his daughter Susan Lattimer: his cherished grandchildren Haley, Samantha, Amanda, and Thomas. He is also survived by his brother Mike, and sisters Luanne and Barbara as well as loving in-laws, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces.
Franklyn served in the United States Navy during 1967-68 on the ARS-43, a Navy recovery ship. He had an HONORABLE Discharge. The following four years (1969-72) he worked on the MORAN Tugboats in NY Harbor. He remembers receiving the Queen Elizabeth II on its madden voyage. He Then worked for over Ten years for General Foods, building production equipment in a pilot plant in Cranbury NJ. He would frequently bring home Jell-O Pudding Pops, and Tang. Afterwards He worked for over 20 years at his last employer Bristol Myers Squib, parent company was Johnson & Johnson. There he built production equipment to make medical supplies for hospitals.
Frank was a good man who cared about our young people. Every year he and the machine shop would work with the kids at the local High School on their Robotics Competition. He was a selfless and generous man who will be missed & fondly remembered.
