Frances Hoenninger Cornelisse

– Frances Hoenninger Cornelisse, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018.

 She was born on August 29, 1932 in Astoria Queens, NY to Mariano and Grace (Di Bella) Di Paola. She started her career at Con Edison where she fell in love and married her first husband Andrew. They settled in Congers, NY where she was a home maker and loving mother to three children. Throughout Frances’ life, she was very involved especially in the Congers Homemakers and at St. Pauls Church, Congers, where she was an active member of the Alter Rosary Society. Frances and Andrew retired in Forked River where she was a longtime parishioner of St. Pius X, Forked River, and a member of the thrift shop and Samaritan corner ministries. She enjoyed playing Rummikub with the Pheasant Run ladies every Monday afternoon. Frances was a kind soul and made many lifelong friends during her lifetime and will be truly missed.

 She is proceeded by her first husband Andrew A. Hoenninger Sr. and her second husband William Cornelisse Sr.

 Surviving are her son Andrew Hoenninger Jr. and his wife Ada, daughter Anne Big and husband Thomas, and son James Hoenninger. She is also survived by her grandchildren Amanda (Nick), Amy, Angela, Danielle; great grandchildren Gabby and Zach, and sister-inlaw E. Hoenninger, cousins, nieces, nephews and many old friends.
