Florida Polo, 99 , died on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Preferred Care at Wall in Allenwood, New Jersey.
Mrs Polo was born October 31, 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, living in Toms River, Forked River and then moving to Greenbriar, Brick NJ.
As a young woman, Flora Polo and her husband Ben Polo both worked as civil servants at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard and then later at the Lakehurst Naval Airbase. After many accolades and a fulfilling career, Flora retired and dedicated herself to her home and family. Flora stayed active in her retirement. She volunteered at the St. Pius Thrift Store and was also a member of the St. Pius X Marian Choir. Music was always near and dear to her heart, so when shemoved to Greenbriar in Brick Township, she joined their Glee Cub and continued to bring joy to others through music. Flora liked to remain active well into her 80's as a member of a local bowling league.
She was a member of Church of Saint Pius X and their Rosary Altar Society and Saint Dominic Roman Catholic Church, Brick.
In her later years, Flora enjoyed a quiet life of family, friends, reading (she always recommended books by David Baldacci, her favorite author), playing bingo and completing word searches.
She was predeceased by her husband Benjamin in 1991 and her son Michael in 2020.
Surviving is her son, Thomas Polo and his wife Dawn of Howell, NJ.; grand-daughter Alicia Farrales and four great- grand children Lilly, Melinda, Dean and Dylan.
