Following her retirement in 1996, Dr. Barlotta resettled on Whidbey Island in Washington State for 18 years where she served as the “community member and advisor” to the Bioethics Committee at Whidbey General Hospital.   She returned to New Jersey in 2013 where she lived close by her niece in Ocean County.

She is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Lena Barlotta and is survived by her beloved sister, Frances Scott Jellison of Port Charlotte, FL.    She also leaves her nieces and nephews, Donald Scott of DeLand, FL, Christine Olivieri of Norwich CT, Elaine Tirella (Joe) of Forked River NJ, Dale Logarzo (Joe) of Andover NJ, Gregory Scott (Marianne) of Kunkletown PA, Francis Scott of East Hanover NJ and Stephen Scott (Lana) of Hopatcong NJ.   She also leaves many grand-nieces and nephews, cousins, colleagues and friends.    We will be forever grateful to all her healthcare aides, especially Valen & Cheryl, who were with her to the end.
