Eugene Wolbert Obituary

Eugene H. Wolbert, 78, of Waretown, New Jersey was called home to the Lord on December 18th. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, comforted with much love and many prayers.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, his precious Patricia, daughters Dawn Marie & Jaimie Leigh; sons Michael Anthony, Michael Adam & Matthew Eugene. Son in law James, daughter in law Ann. Grandchildren Richie & Alena, Dayne, Debbie Julia & Jayden, Morgan & Addison, Cody & Mitchell.

Born in Bridgeton New Jersey, growing up in a humble family, caring brother to John, Debbie, Julie, Howard, Brian, Richard & Bruce. Gene graduated from Hamilton High School West and went on to earn a Draftsman Degree from Mercer County College in 1966. Shortly after he was drafted to the US Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

In the years following his military service he eventually settled in Waretown with his wife and family, a loving home where he would remain. He worked for many years as a home improvement contractor, mostly known for his many years with Toms River Door & Window. Always a good provider for his family. His gentle and kind nature was reflected in his love of nature. Gardening was his lifelong hobby and passion. His yard was where he would spend much of his spare time, and even more time after he retired. He loved all things in nature, walks, parks, botanical gardens, flower shows & exhibits. His most favorite pastimes were always with his children and grandchildren, sharing home cooked meals, (he was spoiled by Patty’s cookin!) playing board games or simply spending time together.

He was a very quiet man of few words, but with a natural gift of communicating so openly with the love in his eyes and the looks on his face. He was a member of the Lord of Lords Church. His life was always lived in service of others, his family, his country, and his Lord. He will be deeply missed by many, but his love will live in our hearts forever.
