Dorothea Eleanor Murray, 81, formerly of West Orange, New Jersey, passed away in Lake Worth, Florida on February 26, 2023, due to ravages of Alzheimer’s.
Dotti was born on April 15, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey to Frank and Elsie Murray, (nee Jupa) and grew up in the ironbound section of Newark. She graduated from St. James Grammar School, St. Vincent Academy, and the nursing program at Essex County College.
Dotti worked in the nursing field for several years and then opened an Asian antique store called Enduring Spring in Cedar Grove, New Jersey. Her last career move was in the real estate field where she worked at Korman Realty and Weichert Associates, both in West Orange and was on the board of Essex County Realtors. Dotti was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and loyal friend and an animal lover who worked with several animal adoption sources.
Dotti was predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her devoted sister, Betty Grunow Laux and husband Arthur of Waretown, New Jersey. She was a loving aunt to Christopher Grunow, Esq. of The Bronx, New York, Keith A. and wife, Patricia Grunow and their children, Jack, Abigal and Wesley, all of Hagerstown, Maryland. Also left to mourn her are her close and much loved cousin, Richard Jupa of New York City and his daughter Kimberley and grandson Hunter Henderson of Calicoon, New York, and her close friend Rosalie Rhodes, who helped care for her. She will also be missed by her dear friend of many years, Murray Korman of Del Ray Beach, Florida.
