Diane Broten Galbavy, 69, of Forked River, New Jersey passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones on November 1 after a courageous 10-year battle with leukemia.
Born in Newark, NJ, she was raised in North Plainfield and later, Rumson, New Jersey where she met and married her high school sweetheart Michael Galbavy. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother, who prided herself on always being there for her family and friends. She was known and loved by many for her gentle spirit, her endlessly empathetic heart, her positivity, and most of all, kindness to all of God’s creatures.
She is pre-deceased by her beloved parents, Robert A. and Marjorie F. Broten.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Michael P. Galbavy of Forked River, NJ; her daughter Robyn G. Trout and son-in-law Gregory T. Trout of Lanoka Harbor, NJ; her son and daughter-in-law Michael R. Galbavy and Kathryn B. Galbavy of Little Silver, NJ; two sisters, Carroll Lynn Broten of Tinton Falls, NJ and Judith B. Land of Boca Raton, FL; a brother, Jeffrey A. Broten of Leonardo, NJ and her “pot of gold at the end of the rainbow”, her 4 grandsons: Hunter and Jack Galbavy, and Ryder and Micah Trout.
