Debra Sue "Debbie" Gardner, of Bayville, passed away on November 21, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1951, in Newark, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, William; her children, Scott (Lindy), Lauren (Donnie), and Kevin (Cara); and her greatest joy, her cherished grandchildren—Ethan, Owen, Chloe, and Jordan—who adored her and whose faces lit up whenever she was near. She is also survived by her sister, Gail, and was predeceased by her parents, Jerry and Shirley, and her brother, Gary Barris.
Debbie had a rare gift for making people laugh—her quick wit, unforgettable one-liners, and playful humor could lift even the heaviest day.
A nurse by profession, Debbie carried her humor and warmth into her work, brightening the days of patients and colleagues alike. At home, she expressed her love through cooking, gathering her family around meals made from the heart. Some of her happiest days were spent boating at the Jersey Shore, surrounded by the people she loved most.
More than anything, Debbie's life was defined by love and the joy of spending time with her family. She adored her grandchildren, treasuring every moment with them and spoiling them with her boundless affection. She cherished every opportunity to be part of their lives and treasured every moment she could spend watching them grow.
Her love and memory will remain with us forever. We will miss her every single day.
