Obituary

Charles Vincent Haberman, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 28th, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Charles was born on February 23, 1948, in Staten Island, New York.  He resided in Hazlet for 24 years raising his children there, and later moved to Tinton Falls and then to Greenbriar Oceanaire, Waretown, NJ.

In his teens, he was a drummer for the PAL Drum Corps. After graduating from high school, he served in the Air Force. He worked for New York City Sanitation, retiring after 25 years. Later, he worked for Holy Family School, Ranney School, and Eatontown Township. He was highly active in Holy Family Parish, where he served as the President of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the New York City Sanitation’s Emerald Society and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

After fully retiring to Greenbriar Oceanaire in Waretown, he was the President of the Men’s Club, an active member of the Glee Club, the Irish American Club, the Italian American Club, the Health and Fitness Club, the Water Volleyball Club, the Pickleball Club, the Softball Club, and he was involved in many other clubs and activities.

He enjoyed playing and watching sports, especially golf, the Yankees, and the New York Giants. More than anything, he loved being with his family. He was the most loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. Charles will be truly missed but never forgotten.

He is predeceased by his parents, George and Genevieve; his brothers, George and Michael; and his sisters, Mary Lou and Judy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rose; his son, Craig; his daughter, Jacqueline, and her husband, Aaron; his grandchildren, Elijah, Jayden, and Adriana; and his sisters, Adele, Gen, and her husband, Charlie, and Terry and her husband, Alfonse.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. There will also be a Celebration of Life for family and friends to attend at a later date.
