Charles Kyriakos Pafites of Daytona Beach, FL passed away on Monday, February 5th 2024 at the age of 88 after a short illness.
He was predeceased by his parents Savvas and Maritsa Pafites and his beloved wife Harita Pafites in 2003. He is survived by his two loving daughters Joanna Gravatt (partner Bill Bussman) and Maria (Frank) Kozar, cherished grandsons Steven (Rachel) Kozar, Michael (Heather) Kozar, great grandson Lucas Kozar and his companion Carmen Chin Nieves.
Charles immigrated to the United States from Karavas, Cyprus. After retiring from his career as the manager of the meat department at The Grand Union Company he dedicated his life to his family, friends and his community. He volunteered at Ocean County Courthouse, Orange County Sheriff’s Office Orlando, Advent Health, and Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was awarded the Outstanding National Service Award for volunteering over 850 hours in one year. He was also an honorary member of the Lampousa Cypriot American Association.
Charles had a knack for always bringing a smile to your face and making you feel like the most important person in the room. He was known for handing out his signature designed teddy bear cards to uplift spirits throughout the community. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
There will be a Trisagion Service on Monday, February 12th where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River, NJ.
