It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to our incredible father, Charles J. Fino, who passed on October 3rd 2024 at the age of 88 years old. He was the epitome of strength, resilience and dedication to his family and he always made sure to take care of us and thus we never wanted for anything. He instilled in us the importance of integrity, family, and hard work. He was also a loyal friend who would help in any way that he could. He was full of love, support and concern and he always put his family first.
He was born in Hughestown, Pa. on January 10th, 1936, the youngest of 10 children of Loretta and Charles Fino. He worked for Johns Manville, and then Twin County Groceries in Edison, NJ from which he retired after 35 years. After retirement, he worked for the Township of Lacey for many years after that. He met the love of his life, Elena Dispenziere, they married and eventually moved to and built a house in Forked River in which they raised their family.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Elena Fino, and his 9 brothers and sisters and he is survived by his children, Charles P. Fino, his wife Stacey and Elena Fino Jackson, her husband Donald. His grandchildren, Rebecca Fino, Christopher Fino, Donald Jackson and Samantha Jackson, along with their dogs, Dude, Ricky and Bobby and Fred the rabbit.
He loved coffee with his sugar, had an amazing sense of humor and you could always hear him saying, “Give the kids a kiss for me” in reference to his grandkids whom he loved deeply. Heaven has taken back one of its finest and he will be very much missed.
To celebrate this remarkable man, we gather on Monday, October 7th from 1-5 pm at Layton’s Home For Funerals in Forked River, NJ. The next day, Tuesday October 8th, there will be a mass service next door, at St. Pius X Church in Forked River at 9:30 am after which the funeral procession travels to Union NJ to Hollywood Memorial Park Cemetery 1500 Stuyvesant Ave, Union, NJ 07083. There will be a repass afterwards, to which all are invited.
