Carsten D. Bischoff, AKA “Pop Pop”, formerly of Holmdel, NJ passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at the age of 85.
Carsten was born in New York City, and spent his childhood in Manhattan and Queens. He graduated from Newtown High School, and CCNY, and did graduate studies at NYU. He later moved to New Jersey, living in Oakland, Holmdel, and most recently, Forked River.
He had a long career at Hoffman La Roche in Nutley, NJ, and after leaving, established his own Pharmaceutical Consulting Company before retiring at the age of 77.
Carsten enjoyed traveling, playing cards, fishing, organizing fun trips, and spending time with family and friends and his beloved pet, Charlie. Some of Carsten’s favorite places to travel were Bora Bora, Australia, Aruba, and Austria. He was also famous with his grandchildren for making them his “legendary” blueberry and bacon pancakes.
He is predeceased by his parents, Bruno and Lina Bischoff, his in-laws William and Sophie Buerger, his brother Walter Bischoff (Norahmarie), and his son-in-law Salvatore Iradi, Jr.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Barbara Bischoff, his daughter Clare McCoy and her husband William of Holmdel, his son Mark Bischoff and his wife Angela of Toms River, his daughter Karen Iradi of Toms River, his brother Bruno Bischoff and wife Patty of Lilburn Georgia, and his beloved grandchildren, Alexis, Marissa, Carsten, Catherine, Melanie, Caroline, Megan, and Brian.
Funeral arrangements are private due to concerns regarding the pandemic .In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
