Bertha B. (Bobbie) Tier 76 of Forked River passed into the Lords hands on March 22, 2023. Born in the Bronx, NY she grew up in Barnegat, raised by her paternal grandparents Edward and Verna Braunsdorf. She graduated from Southern Regional HS in 1964. She began working for the Ocean County Engineering Dept in 1965 as a Secretary
and retiring in 2008 as Administrative Analyst where she prepared the annual budget for the Department. In 1979 Bobbie met the love of her life, her husband John. They fell very much in LOVE and were married in 1980, married for 43 years. During that time they traveled as far west as Hawaii north to Alaska, east to Bermuda and south transiting the Panama canal. Bobbie’s favorite past time was taking day trips to LBI, Spring Lake, Smithville, Stone Harbor, and Cape May. She could be seen every Thursday at the clubhouse playing canasta with the Sea Breeze ladies.
She was pre-deceased by her paternal grandparents, Edward and Verna Braunsdorf; her brothers Edward Braunsdorf, and Joseph Hollings; sisters Frieda Kneuer, Josie Saliani and Clara Nickens; her father-inlaw. Charles Tier. Bobbie is survived by her husband , John, her mother –inlaw Mary Tier, sisters, Diane Johnson and Cathie Braunsdorf, her brothers –in-laws Charles Tier (JoAnn), Michael Tier (Cathie), Frank Tier (Lori), sister–inlaw Leann Gwyn-Williams (Greg), 25 nieces and nephews and 35 great nieces and nephews.
Bobbie in her kind and gentle manner touched the lives of so many people whether they belong to her extended family, friends, neighbors, or casual acquaintances, everyone has lost the one shining star that touched so many people. Bobbie you decorated so many lives and they have been changed forever. From John, “if you get there before I do, don’t give up on me. I’ll meet you when my chores are through. I don’t know how long I’ll be. But I’m not going to let you down Darling. Wait and see, between now and then til I get to see you again I’ll be Loving you, Love me. I know deep down in my heart that the only thing that mattered had come true, that in this life l was LOVED by YOU. YOU are my Greatest love and hardest goodbye.
Relatives and friends of the family may attend a visitation from 10 am – 12 Noon Wednesday at Layton's Home For Funerals, (609) 971-6800, 250 W. Lacey Road, Forked River, Lacey.
