It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to Benjamin E. Harris, who passed away on May 6, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on July 19, 1967, in Paterson, NJ, the son of Jo Ann and the late Robert Harris. Ben spent his life bringing joy to those around him, whether through his fun-loving personality or his legendary baking skills. Residing in Lanoka Harbor at the time of his passing, Ben’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and a well-kneaded dough.
Ben dedicated over 30 years to his career as a baker at Nicholas Markets, Inc., where he was known not only for his perfect pastries but also for his infectious laughter that could brighten even the earliest of shifts. When he wasn’t baking, Ben was likely found on the golf course, enjoying a round or two with friends and family, where his competitive spirit and camaraderie shined brightly.
A true sports enthusiast, Ben also spent several years in his younger days coaching, umpiring, and refereeing, sharing his love for sports and teamwork with the younger generations. Benny attended Manchester Regional High School in Haledon, NJ where he was a stellar baseball and basketball athlete. His dedication to his craft didn’t just end at the bakery, it seeped into his home kitchen, where he loved to bake and cook up a storm for those he cherished most.
Ben is survived by his mother, Jo Ann of Ledgewood, NJ, followed by his wife Renee, and their three wonderful children, Stephanie, Michael, and Jennifer of Lanoka Harbor, NJ, along with his brother, Robert and his wife Tracy.
