Barbara L. Zino, 80, passed away on February 1, 2026. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Barbara carried with her a quiet elegance and warmth that never faded, no matter where life took her.
Barbara spent her professional life as an Employment Representative for the New Jersey Department of Labor, a role that reflected her natural compassion, patience, and desire to help others find their footing. Outside of work, her true joy was found in the simple, meaningful things—time spent with family and friends, a home filled with love, and a kitchen that was always warm and welcoming.
She was an amazing cook, widely known for meals that brought people together and made everyone feel instantly at home. Cooking was one of the many ways Barbara showed her love. She also found peace in caring for her plants and flowers, nurturing them with the same tenderness she gave to the people in her life. Some of her happiest moments were spent enjoying the companionship of her beloved grand dog, Dusa, who brought her endless comfort and smiles.
Above all else, Barbara was most proud of her two sons. Being their mother was the greatest role of her life, and her love for them was constant, unwavering, and deeply felt. She was accepting, hospitable, generous, kind, and loving—beautiful both inside and out. Her elegance wasn't just in how she carried herself, but in how she treated others, always making people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for.
Barbara is survived by her sons, David and Scott; her son-in-law, Efren; her brother, Dominick; her niece, Catherine; her cousin, Carole; and her cherished grand dog, Dusa. She leaves behind a family and circle of friends forever shaped by her love, her grace, and her remarkable ability to make people feel at home simply by being herself.
