Barbara E. (Maitz) Fiedler was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 5, 1942 and passed away on December 29, 2020, peacefully at home in Forked River surrounded by the love of her family.
Barbara was predeceased by her mother and father, Adolph and Margaret Maitz of Philadelphia. Barbara is survived by her husband of sixty years, William Fiedler as well as: her daughter and son in-law Carolyn and Robert Sheppard of Weatherly PA, her oldest son and daughter in-law William and Chieko Fiedler of Forked River, her youngest son and daughter in-law Eric and Kara Fiedler of Forked River, as well as her grandchildren, Dylan and Dakota Fiedler, step grandson Nathaniel Zbaida, and her two dogs, Rocky and Bella.
Barbara grew up in the Kensington section of Philadelphia and is a graduate of Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical High School. She fell in love with her husband Bill, who grew up just around the corner from her childhood home in Philadelphia. Barbara and Bill were married in 1960 and together successfully set out to achieve the American dream. Barbara worked as a beautician in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey for over forty years. She enjoyed life at the Jersey Shore, Marco Island, and in the Pocono Mountains with her husband Bill, her family, and her friends. Barbara loved adventure which included; boating, fishing, skiing, cooking, gardening, watching her grandchildren play soccer, and traveling the world.
Barbara had a gift of touching the lives of all who had the good fortune to meet her. Her love, positivity, and desire to live life to the fullest will forever be present in all of our hearts and her spirit will always be by our side.

The celebration of Barbara’s life will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org/give.html), the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (https://www.cff.org/), or any charity that you hold close to your heart.
